Software wise, the pins changed, so we need to swap them physically. No code to fix that?

It was recently discovered that the Open Collector outputs were not as previously
documented. This only affects the G2.

Old pin assignment:

New pin assignment:
new_oc.png

Updated G2 Manual:
https://apache-labs.com/download_file.p ... ds_id=1023
The question is then:
Move GND from pin 1 to pin 5
Move REF from pin 2 to pin 9
Move OC7 from pin 3 to pin 4
Move OC6 from pin 5 to pin 8
Move OC4 from pin 6 to pin 7
Move OC3 from pin 7 to pin 2
Move OC2 from Pin 8 to pin 6
Move OC1 from pin 9 to pin 1

Now, is this change on radio side or amp side, because my cable has one DB9 on both ends.
Thanks.

OK, not sure where my post are going to, but I have a VK amp with my G2. I updated from V17 to V25 on the firmware. Had problems, so had to use the long list of steps and worked fine.
The new videos or steps or latest steps to do it better or faster is causing problems for some people, so went back and did it the old way with the long list of steps, then worked fine, just the OC pin out screwed up, but here as shown.
As per pictures, it seems to me then that the wires will be swapped on the Radio side, radio side again, radio side as:
Move GND from pin 1 to pin 5
Move REF from pin 2 to pin 9
Move OC7 from pin 3 to pin 4
Move OC6 from pin 5 to pin 8
Move OC4 from pin 6 to pin 7
Move OC3 from pin 7 to pin 2
Move OC2 from Pin 8 to pin 6
Move OC1 from pin 9 to pin 1

********* ===== ********
This is an update after opening the DB9 connector on radio side, found pins 1 and 9 not uses.
So here what is seems to me it will be used then:

Move GND from pin 1 to pin 5
Move REF from pin 2 to pin 9 - Not used
Move OC7 from pin 3 to pin 4
Move OC6 from pin 5 to pin 8
Move OC4 from pin 6 to pin 7
Move OC3 from pin 7 to pin 2
Move OC2 from Pin 8 to pin 6
Move OC1 from pin 9 to pin 1 - Not used

I can't speak to piHPSDR, but in Thetis the wiring is completely arbitrary, since you can program the signaling however you like, so there is no reason to rewire.

This is great. Thanks.
Of course, I need to understand what I am doing there, but will try to research on it.
For example, on my DB9 connector, on the radio side, pins 1 and 9 are not used.
On this picture, only 7 pins are available, but still pin 1, and I dont then have to worry about pin 9.
So, even pin 1, is not used.
Attached is my current screen.

This is what piHPSDR presents to the user with Radio "Anan 10E/100B" configured.

But this menu is for the Anan G2 only?

G2 to VK amplifier interface

Post by w-u-2-o »

Looking at this in more detail:

It's not clear to me what your exact situation is. A drawing of the cable you have between the G2 and the VK amp, with signal names at both ends, would be helpful to define your current configuration.

At the most, you may need to rewire the location of GND and OC1.

After that, it becomes a small matter of reprogramming the OC output setup in either or both of Thetis and piHPSDR.

You might also review the following topic, which describes in more detail how this interface works, and easy ways to test it using simple screw terminal connectors and LED indicators available on Amazon.

ok, vendor told me to rewire at radios end of the DB9 connector.
I was trying to see if an upgrade did it, so a small change on software could fix.
But, the menu on Thetis with 7 sections and the DB9 connector with 9 pins, do not directly correspond to each other.
So, I dont mind to solder, but was also looking into getting to know that table to see if via Thetis that could be done, but have not found any explanations in details for dummies.
Thanks a lot.
