I have 2 Anan 10 boards which i use as 28mnhz IF with transverters , i require from 0-+5dbm both boards were faulty
During the last Jan VHF contest i was told i had a chirp while using Thetis , so after adding a couple of caps on U29 regulator and downgrading to PsdrMrx (2018) version i was able to lessen the chirp by abt 90% , and carry on.
What was happening is U29 regulated the 122.8mhz osc and was causing serious warble on cw tx.
My first attempt to correct i tacked on 2 smd caps to see if it will help buffer the voltage swings i still saw 2.79V on a 3.3v reg, so that kind of started the whole diagnostic process. also noticed using thermal image that the reg was running way hot 85c even with fan cooling it remained hot.
eventually changed the u29 3.3v regulator and added heat sinks on it as well as the one besides it, once the regulator was changed the 122.8 mhz osc was rock stable , OTA testing with transverters showed the issue was corrected and the CW tone is now sharp and crisp as it should be .
I have included thermal images 2 gif files of before and after U29 reg change , and a video of complete chain from 28mhz to 144mhz OTA
122.8 osc measurement was done with a sniffing probe and a sdr dongle as not to load oscillator
forgot to mention i went back to using Thetis latest version 2.10.3.12 works as it should
