TX Inhibit Function

Post by Joe »

First, I want to say thank you for all of the great information here. I just wanted to confirm the setup of the TX Inhibit function on my 8000. If I understand correctly I will use the digital input #1 (RCA connector) and select the checkbox in setup to enable. I use Wavenode WN-2 for SWR protection, the RCA center pin to ground which will Inhibit transmit if SWR is above set limit. Will this Inhibit all transmit modes and functions - cw key, foot switch, tune, mox, keyboard?

Thanks and 73’s

That is correct. It will inhibit every method of asserting TX mode as far as I know. In fact, the user interface is quite helpful in this respect. With TX Inhibit enabled, when TX Inhibit is asserted the TUN, MOX, and VOX indicators are grayed out and "TX Inhibit" is annunciated at the bottom center of the spectral display.
