Hello,

Think I just ruined something here.
Radio is a 7000 running Thesis
Heil headset with mic hooked into the front mic jack, Heil foot switch hooked to the back of the rig.

I was messing with my headset and somehow plugged something in wrong. Now-- I get NO microphone audio anywhere.

PTT works fine but no audio while speaking into the mic. Also tried MOX and still nothing out.

Restarted both PC and radio and still get the same results.

Been working great for 3 months so I think I may have damaged something somewhere.

Have you tried audo via VAC or a PC microphone? Do you have another mic/connector you can try?

If you run the tone test or hit TUN, does it still produce output?

Throw a VOM on the mic cable assembly and just check that you have continuity where you expect it.

Just got it working through VAC-- all OK on that.
Tune works ok also!

Will now re try it at the front mic jack and see what happens.

Oh good so it's nothing "major", hopefully just a stray short in the wiring.

OK-- Still no go on the front mic jack. I hook a different headset to it and still nothing.

I wonder if there is something to check on the interior of the rig?
