Running Windows 10 Pro Insider version 19042.508, i.e.. 20H2.
2.8.8 x86 installs and runs well.
Installing 2.8.8 - x64 completes the FFT table and before reaching the display, disappears without signalling an error visually.
If I attempt to run the "partial installation" after rebooting, I get to a page indicating PortAudio and then the task goes away.
I have tried a complete uninstall followed by a reboot followed by reinstallation where I receive the same behavior.
I have tried substituting in the X86 database for the x-64 one with no success. I tried to find out if a special library must
be included, but found no indication of a requirement for one.

Any help will be appreciated.

I had the same problem going from the latest version of 2.7 to the new 64 bit version of 2.8.7. I removed all versions of Thetis and all Thetis files so that I could do a clean install and it worked.

Check the specs on your CPU. If it does not support AVX then it will not run Thetis x64. If it does support AVX then it may be an installation issue.

Ran into the same problem, as reported on another thread, my CPU (i7 860 2.8 GHz) does not support AVX, I guess I will have to go for the x86 one.
