Delays under "Options 1" recommendations

Perhaps this post belongs under "Amplifiers" rather than here........I am exciting (using an ANAN 7000 DLE MKII) a tube amplifier with a relay that has mechanical contacts (in future, the T/R keying is done via a PIN diode which makes the switching much faster) currently and fell to thinking that my "delays" under the "Options1" tab may be a tad too short - especially on CW. Also, my thinking is that it is better to have the PTT delay set to a shorter time than that of the "RF delay". This way the mechanical contacts have been actuated before RF hits them.

I would particularly solicit recommendations from those operating CW on the delays shown. Also, I do operate at higher speed too, north of 35WPM at times. The faster the speed the shorter the delays would need to be think. Currently, I don't operate full-QSK, only semi-break on CW.

On SSB, I use a hand-switch for keying the exciter.

Would appreciate comments!
JJ

Hi Hans,

What amp are you using? Obviously, what the amp like to see is important.

Do you operate CW?

Best!
JJ

Dear JJ,

I prefer CW contesting, with a speed of about 25 wpm, sometimes faster.

My linear amplifier is a Hilberling HPA-8000B.

CW I do with the microHAM CW Keyer and N1MM.

73! Hans.
