Hi all,

am I the only one with a very slow GUI like seen in the video below? Building up the main window right after start takes 10 seconds until all buttons and other gui parts are placed.

Switching RX/TX takes 1-2 seconds to update the panafall:

The main sdr radio pc is a I7-3770, GTX 1050Ti, W11PRO 23H2).

Running Thetis on a HP Workstation (I9-14900K, RTX A4000, W11PRO 23H2) is a bit quicker (2-3 sec. for the main windows to build after start) but also slower than it used to be 1-2 month before.

Edit: Using collapsed window rx/tx switching is as quick as it should be.

Switching on my machine is immediate -- no delay at all like you see.

Process Explorer:
TX on, Thetis jumps from 11 to 22 % cpu usage and slows dow to 13 %, still transmitting. When switching back to RX cpu usage jumps up to 22 and slows down to 11.

In collapsed mode there is only a small change by 1-2 % cpu usage.

Deinstalled release 2.10.3.6 and installed ver. dev_8b from 08/06/24. Same slow gui building.
Seems to be a problem with the windows. But why do I see this also on a brand new HP Workstation? Both computer are equipped with NVIDIA GPUs. NVIDIA driver?

this has been resolved in 2.10.3.7 a while ago, available in the discord testing group. We are on dev7 of that version already in testing. The issue was introduced in a recent windows update. You can get around it in older versions by resizing console.png located in the skin you are using, to a much lower resolution, say 640x480, something smaller than the client area of the console form. Windows11 build 22631.4317 killed it around 8th Oct, not sure about other os versions.

Also, due to the nature of the issue, it would only be noticeable if the console client area is less than the size of the console.png size, so if you have maximised console or a very large window then the issue would not be seen.
