G2 Ultra crashes with external monitor connected

Had my G2 ultra (with screen) about a month ..new to sdr's so steep learning curve as not a pc geek.

All is well until i connect an external monitor, then after about an hour the screens freeze and the radio is totally unresponsive, unplugging the monitor has no effect,so unfortunately have no alternative but to press and hold the power button and force shutdown, which i believe can be harmful.
I've fitted large ferrite rings to HDMI and power cable from the monitor as well an numerous clip-on ferrites to all other cables out the back of the radio. I've only played with Thetis briefly, and the radio worked fine with the monitor,so can only conclude the problem is with piHPSDR which is V2.2. My knowledge with computers is very limited,so rather reluctant to start attempting updates etc, because i could end up with a bigger problem/s than i have now

TIA

Nick

Have you tried to SSH in to the Pi when it is apparently crashed? If you can do this then you can use dmesg to look at the error logs. If not, then you can use journalctl to look at the logs from the last session prior to the crash. Either way those commands can help you find valuable error messages that might provide clues to the source of the problem.

There are plenty of YouTube videos on dmesg and journalctl that can teach you how to use those commands. It's not just a matter of "type this and here's your answer".

I normally have a 7" or 8" front panel display and attached display either 1920x1080 or 2560x1440 and I've never seen that happen!
