Hello to all!

My radio is the ANAN G2 Ultra with software Thetis V2.10.3.10.

I am experiencing significant problems in dealing with the new of database management in Thetis. IMHO before this was quite simple and easy to handle, nothing went wrong all those years. I stored the database, made backups, restored it, etc. Everything went perfect!

IMHO in the new way of database management there are too much options to choose. This is too complicated. In the old way it was much better to handle. Again: IMHO.
Every time I am strubling in storing the active database and restoring it later on. Changes are lost the next day! This is very disturbing and confusing. I never experienced these problems before, with the old way of database management. Perhaps this is a matter of language, as English is not my maiden language, it is Dutch and German.

My questions are:
- Is there an easy-to-handle short manual concerning how to handle this new way of database management available?
- Is there a possibilty to return to the old way of database management: an option in Thetis like: old (short) or new (comprehensive) database management?
- When I make changes in Thetis like the Transmit Profile, Equalizer, etc and I want to store these changes into a new database, which option do I have to choose in the database management? In the old way I saved the database, gave it a name and wrote it into a file. Like a backup. If necessary I could restore this database very easily. I cannot find something easy going handling with the databases like this in the new way of database management.
- How to make a backup of the active database?
- How to restore a backup into the active database?

Since two months I have the Olliter OL-SD20A and in OL-Master it's in the old way: Export DB, Import DB and Reset DB. Nice and easy. I don't need more.

To answer your questions :

• there is no manual, however there are button tooltips, and videos as Scott posted above
• yes there is, uninstall and use old version of Thetis if later versions are too complicated for you to use. Version 2.10.3.5 did not have the db manager
• save your changes to a tx profile. You can export a specific TX profile to a file, and re-import into directly into another active database to share them
• by using the backup button, or turning on auto backup and perhaps auto purge. Or you can do it manually, there is a button to open the folder containing the database file
• by importing a database into the active DB (not always recommended) or directly into the list as a 'new entry' to later be used

How can I change this filename in (e.g.) C:\Thetis\DB?
In order to save, open and restore in/from this directory only. This will make life easier...

I'm with Richie: the Olliter folks have a) clearly ripped off the Thetis code-base, b) violated the GPL open source license, and c) have lied about it. It's too bad the openHPSDR community doesn't have the resources to sue them.

I will give it a try, although it's not an easy going solution. Yesterday I again spent "some" time trying to figure it out and understand this new database management.

Since more than ten years I use ANAN SDR and its software: Power SDR mRX, Open HPSDR, Thetis and I have a great amount of respect for everything you are doing for the community. I enjoy all the features, always being surprised to see and use new updates. Thanks for everything to everybody!

However (IMHO): This whole new database management for me still is one big pain in the ass, does'nt make me happy at all. How can you make things unnecessarily complicated?

About Olliter I will no mix up, but I am very happy with their hard- and software. And I agree with you: always tell the truth.

You can add a command line option to your Thetis desktop shortcut that points to a custom directory for saving and restoring the database. I use a custom directory (D:\Thetis) by adding the command line option "-datapath:D:\Thetis" to my desktop shortcut.
