I have an original 8000dle board that has worked perfectly. Updated software to earlier Thetis (3 years ago) and it has been working with that. Just updated to v2.10.2.11x64 (07/17/25), it chooses protocol 1, loads, and runs with everything seeming to work except audio volume is extremely low.
I am not using VAC. Both audio sliders work, tracking CAT commands from an external controller, but with sliders at maximum audio is barely detectable in headphones. At everything max gain I can barely hear it, but I can detect it still responds to the sliders. The CW sidetone volume is normal (at maximum it'll blow your ears off). It is NOT a hardware problem.
I also have a G2 in the den, running a slightly modified version of V2.10.3.x64 which chooses protocol 2 and it works normally. When I move it to the main station Thetis chooses protocol 2, everything seems to work except exactly as the 8000dle does: the audio volume is essentially noexistent.
Seems like there must be something in the later Thetis that I'm not handling properly, but damned if I can figure it out.

almost no audio output
Re: almost no audio output
Is this really just a bare 8000DLE board, or an entire ANAN-8000DLE?
Recommend you:
- Update the 8000DLE to the latest protocol 2 firmware: viewtopic.php?t=4462 (use 2.1.18)
- Update the PC to the latest version of Thetis, 2.10.3.11: https://github.com/ramdor/Thetis/releas ... v2.10.3.11
- Start with a default database.

Re: almost no audio output
It is a bare 8000 board, I bought it from Apache before they delivered an 8000DLE. I''ve been using it for many years untilIO installed (twice) the latest 2.10.3.11 Thetis.
The hardware works: it displays signals, it makes RF. No VAC. It makes the usual adjustable-volume CW sidetone, MON on/off works as before.
It is still protocol 1, Thetis confirms that after installation(s). I'm not going to risk locking the board up by screwing up a protocol 2 download.
I'll try a default database tomorrow.

Re: almost no audio output
Thanks Scott. Clean DB fixed it.
It's been so many years since I've had problems or read of others problems I had forgotten the obvious.
