Re: Buffer sizes don't save - Why?
Ruben,
Great question! Five years ago I did some A/B testing of the audio quality between Low Latency and Linear Phase and posted the results in this forum, and neither Scott nor myself could discern any difference in the audio. Given that Low Latency is, well, low latency, I decided that's the ...

Re: Buffer sizes don't save - Why?
Yep, sometimes when I'm playing in the settings I'll enable the Transmit tab's "Highlight TX Profile Save Items" so I'm kept aware of what gets saved with a TX Profile.

Re: Fldigi slow to respond
Hamlib is a software library that can be used by app developers to enable CAT comm's with a huge list of radios. It is not a separate app. Hamlib is used by Fldigi, WSJT-X and numerous other digi and logging app's.

Re: Fldigi slow to respond
Is Hamlib a separate app? Sorry for the questions. I'm new to the digital scene.
(I found Hamlib) I thought I found it anyway. I downloaded and installed ver 4.6. There is no executable or icon. Is this right?

Did you try the default port number in Thetis instead?
I tried the default port also. I'll get a handle on this or bust. I also tried numerous other ports.

Ruben--I just upgraded my version of Fldigi to 4.2.0.6 (the release version, no .17 on the end). I can't duplicate your problem. However I may be setup differently from you. In particular I don't know what "Fldigi UDP" is.

Thanks Scott. I've had this installed a few days and I didn't notice the issue until today. I'll keep digging and reading. I may learn something. I use it to talk between Thetis, the HFAUTO app and Fldigi. I bet some timing setting has changed somehow. By me? I hope not

Fldigi slow to respond
I use Thetis, Fldigi and Fldigi UDP. I had a much earlier version of Fldigi which worked fine but was a CPU hog. 25-30% most of the time. I updated to version 4.2.06.17. The new version uses less than 1% utilization all the time. BUT, it is very slow to respond to frequency changes. If you click on ...

OK here is an example. Under "Roles" there is the statement, " To become a tester , to take part in active testing, provide feedback and access to early builds then click the (green checkbox) below." I see no checkbox. Anywhere. I know there is something so obvious that I'm missing it. :D

As I started reading this thread I thought "what! how could NR2 possibly be approved upon?" I downloaded and installed this latest development and the answer was clear. Really clear. Before I switch protocols I hold my left foot 6.2 inches from the floor while quacking twice. Then I feel that the Chee is just right for the change. I've had no problems with this at all. I also use this method of putting my shoes on. (sorry-I couldn't let this go by)

Finally it was announced that the radios would ship in time for Christmas 2019. Finally, in December I received ...

I have my MIC level set to the same 1db you have displayed there.
Make sure the LINE/INST and the PAD buttons on the UMC are both popped out.
Turn up the gain on the UMC until the CLIP led starts blinking, then back off a smidge.
Turn OFF the 48v slide switch on the back, unless your microphone ...
