Audio distortion after a few hours

Post by Dave30019 »

I've owned the 7K MKII for 3 1/2 weeks and this issue started after 2 weeks. After the rig has been on for about 2 hrs or up to 12 hrs I start getting distorted audio. I tried a total of 3 different sets of powered speakers, same issue. This occurs on both FT8 & SSB. Not sure what to do. This example is a mild version of the distortion.

What does your spectrum look like? Especially the FT8 transmit spectrum when this happens?
I find my ANAN 100 frequently starts generating noise similar to this and I have to toggle the power button in Thetis to reset.

It has nothing to do with your speakers, trying a different pair will make no difference.

How are you feeding those speakers? Are they plugged into the 7000, or are they plugged into the computer and you are using VAC?

The speakers are plugged into the front headphone jack.

Unfortunately I haven't any good suggestions. I hate to suggest resetting the database...
