Orion Mkii (Anan 7000, 8000 series) RF input signal control map

Post by Taiga »

Hi all,
This diagram came about in an attempt to understand how RF input signals are controlled in the DLE7000 mkii using Thetis. For example, how would one assign ADC_0 and ADC_1 to the DDC recievers if you wanted to use Rx1 in Thetis for FT8 and Rx2 to monitor CW on the same band (answer: assign ADC_0 to DDC2 and DDC3 so they are mapped to Thetis software receivers Rx1 and Rx2, use Rx1 for FT8 and Rx2 to monitor CW).

Much of the info came from Scott including the answer to the above question. As always sending thanks to him for his excellent help & gracious support. Also sending thanks to k9dtc who's question on another post promted the creation of this diagram.

Hopefully this will help others to understand how they can control RF input flow in the DLE7000 mkii using Thetis.

If there are errors, please let me know & will issue a revision. 73, Taiga

Great stuff! The only thing missing is which DDCs are used for PureSignal. I will see if I can find that info.

One suggestion: edit the title and the drawing to refer to the Orion MK II. This arrangement is specific to the board and this exists in all versions of the 7000 and 8000 hardware.

Thanks fellows. A picture is worth 1,000 words...or more. I'll keep a copy for easy reference.

Hi Scott,
The diagram above suggests there are 3 unused DDC's that could potentially be used for additional recievers in future software releases, if Puresignal uses only one, there's still two left :-)

best,

Isn't one DDC used for the 60Mhz wide display (WB) ? r/Leon.

No DDC is required for the WB display. By definition the WB display does not require any downconversion or frequency conversion

Thanks Scott, but now i'm currious what the signal path is for the WB display :D

All Taiga has to do is add a wire from ADC0 to a box marked WB Display.
