Instead use a 2nd NIC for direct connention to radio.

Re: Gigabit Ethernet switch
I agree with Walter.
However, if you have your heart set on a switch, it will need to be an unmanaged switch in order to use Bootloader to load firmware. And even then, not all unmanaged switches will work properly.
If you do move forward with a switch, look for an unmanaged switch, in a metal case that can be added to your station ground, and be prepared to test Bootloader and return the switch if it will not pass Bootloader packets. If it can be powered off of the station 12VDC even better.
There's a million switches out there, but FWIW I've had good luck with the TP-Link TL-SG108 (not the 108e). It's got a metal case and it works with Bootloader. But I don't use it anymore since I've gone with a dedicated NIC for the radio.

Re: Gigabit Ethernet switch
If there is no actual NIC in the laptop a USB3.0 GigE NIC will work fine. USB2.0 will not support the full GiGE speed, so get a laptop with USB3.0 ports.
Re: Gigabit Ethernet switch

Re: Gigabit Ethernet switch
You need a USB3.0 NIC and a standard Ethernet cable.

Re: Gigabit Ethernet switch
You only need one if the laptop does not have a built-in GigE NIC, or if you need an extra one for your laptop. I have no specific recommendations.
