Noise Floor Issue On 12m/11m

Post by W3MMR »

So, when I tune up from the top band edge of 12 meters, to I guess its 11 meters, the noise floor rises considerably and covers up incoming signals. Even when I switch from an antenna to my dummy load, the noise floor doesn't change. But if I go just below 24.990, the noise floor drops to an S2, what it should be. This seems to happen after using diversity reception for a while and switching it on and off multiple times over a period of time. Last time this happened, i had to do a database reset to correct the problem. Just curious as to why this keeps happening and if theirs anyway to prevent it, which i'm sure there isn't. Ive tried turning band pass filters on and off and no change. Has anyone had this happen to them or something similar?

I know some are going to say/think "well, why are you on 11 meters anyway?" Well, i like to listen to the free-banders, especially now since the solar cycle is around its peak.

Here's a link to a video i've made to show the issue at hand:

Thanks,

What hardware (ANAN) and what firmware are you using?

Bandpass filters working like they should.
You may hear an audible click when you turn outside the Amateur bands.
