There should be a possibility for another customer category with this and maybe get some HL2 and Square with more customers if nothing else.

I just pre-ordered one. Looks good. I see it has a fan on it. Would anyone care to speculate if the fan would come on by default or is there a setting in Thetis that has to be enabled?

My HL2+ performed nearly as well as my 7000, which impressed me. I decided to order a 10E and hope they sell plenty of them. More success for these black box radios benefits all of us who enjoy them.

I hope to hear soon on delivery of the ANAN-10E. Ordered back in early May but no word yet except something about 8-weeks in the beginning but that must have been for early adopters. Has anyone heard when another batch may sent out?

Great, I got mine today earlier and already adjusted each band power. Very well built. LPF and output board great. Hermes falls short of this, as this 10-E is a complete radio.

Interesting comment. What makes the 10-E a complete radio compared to the Hermes? (I am assuming you are talking about the Hermes Lite 2 and not the older radio from Apache Labs)

Okay, a little bit of reading and I see that the 10-E has a built-in audio amplifier and headphone connection as well as higher output power. Maybe, that's what you are referring to. There are add-on boards and a modified firmware that add onboard audio and a microphone input as well for the HL2. But, even then you need Thetis or a Raspberry Pi to operate the radio.
Looking forward to hearing actual user reports.

The Hermes Lite 2 has one board and a little LPF board then the I/O board.
The ANAN 10-E has two boards inside, the main and the Power board, with a heavy LPF, etc board.
Also 6 meters the Hermes Lite 2 dont have, and a better FPGA of course. I got both radios, plus the ANAN G2.

The G2 has XLR (TRS 1/4) for mic only, a 3.5mm for mic only, and a 3.5mm for PTT In/Out.

The ANAN 10-E has a mic in 3.5 mm jack, but also PTT. So differs from the G2 as this is Mic in and PTT in.
Other connections can be done via the ACC connections.

The only problem with the HL2 is the 12 bit ADC. In all other ways it is as good or better than a 10E. Consider that you can assemble a 100W, Thetis-compatible, radio for under $700 USD. If you are willing to give up two S units of receiver dynamic range it's a smoking deal.

Does firmware update work the same as with a HL2 ie rbf file with Spark? The manual is not up-to-date with Spark info on this subject.

The firmware and firmware update process for all Apache hardware (all derived from the original Hermes design) is 100% different from the HL2.

The Git link will take you to the latest Protocol 1 firmware for all Apache hardware. For the 10E that is version 1.5. However, the Protocol 2 firmware on GitHub is not the latest. If you want to try Protocol 2, take a look in this topic: viewforum.php?f=32

I strongly recommend the use of Bootloader to make any changes in the firmware. And it would be prudent to have a copy of the 1.5 .rbf file available if things don't work out and you want to revert back.

Did they put an external Bootloader switch on the new 10E, or do you still have to crack it open and place a jumper?

The new Anan 10E has an opening in the bottom (see picture). Also purpose for cooling (I assume).

Not big enough to provide cooling. But, it allows inserting a small screwdriver ( or something thin) to move the bootloader switch back and forth.
