Re: vac audio just quits ?
Are you using VAC to connect to other software? If not, I would suggest leaving it unchecked. cmASIO with your Foucsrite is all you need unless you are also using software like FT8.

Re: vac audio just quits ?
Operating system updates can play havoc with audio drivers. Try uninstalling the VAC drivers that you are using, reboot, reinstall, reboot, and see if that fixes the problem.
Re: vac audio just quits ?
i do not let windows do updates this computer is NOT on the internet it;s only network connection is the anan , i have uninstalled all the software and rebooted it with no luck the anan is the only purpose for this computer updates are not causing this issue , i can not leave vac unchecked i would have no audio dont know what cm asio is it is not a listed choice
Re: vac audio just quits ?
If you loose audio with VAC unchecked, then you have a settings issue. If you have edited the Registry with the correct entry for your interface and in Windows Sound settings, you have selected the USB interface for Audio input and output, it should work. VAC is not needed for cmASIO to work.
In the Thetis installation folder there is a text file for cmASIO explaining the different settings needed.

Re: vac audio just quits ?
Windows 11 should look like this using a USB audio interface.
Re: vac audio just quits ?
And, as you can see here, VAC is not selected.
Re: vac audio just quits ?
There is no editing of the registry that is necessary in his case. He is not a former user of cmASIO from the days when manually editing the registry was necessary so there are no registry edits that need correcting.Trucker wrote: Mon Oct 06, 2025 3:17 am If you loose audio with VAC unchecked, then you have a settings issue. If the instructions in the cmASIO Setup Guide are followed Thetis will take care of all of the necessary registry changes.

Re: vac audio just quits ?
Just to clarify: by this you mean you didn't update a Win10 PC to a Win11, instead you replaced the entire, old Win10 PC with a new Win11 PC, is that correct?mike b wrote: Sun Oct 05, 2025 3:45 pm ok i updated my win 10 computer to a win11 computer

Are you using the Muzychenko VAC software? If you are, it does not support ASIO, and that may be a part of the problem. Muzy VAC is based around the WDM/KS audio driver.
With an ASIO-capable interface like the Focusrite, you have two choices that will work:
1. One of the VB Audio app's, https://vb-audio.com/index.htm, I recommend either Voicemeeter or Matrix, and pair this with Thetis VAC.
2. Use the cmASIO feature of Thetis. How to use cmASIO is fully described in the cmASIO PDF file that can be found in the Thetis program directory.
