Did something happen to the discord server? I haven't checked things in a while, when I log in to look, Thetis is missing from my account. When I try to rejoin, I get a message about not being able to accept the invite.

Anyone know if there's an issue?

You probably got caught up in the recent rule change about nicknames:

Important: Rule No. 1 (Server Nickname & Callsigns)
All members must ensure their server nickname follows the name/nickname convention in Rule No. 1.
If you have a callsign, it must be included in your server nickname. If you do not have one or wish to keep it private then use your name/nickname with [SWL].

When is this happening ?
On 1st February '26, any member who is not compliant with the naming convention in Rule No. 1 will be removed from the server. Any user removed will be able to re-join via a normal joining link as long as the name/nickname convention is followed.

I am not sure of what you are describing. say my username/login name is xyz, what do I need to change it to?

Allow me to repost, again, the same message that Richie posted to all his Thetis Discord users (and that you should have also received by email). I'll add some additional highlighting for you:

None of these worked. I never saw an email from Richie.

For months Richie has been instructing all users of his Discord server to add their callsign to their name.

Here's a post from last August where he was quite emphatic about that, and even included a video on how to get that done:

He has made numerous posts in several of his Discord channels since then, reminding everyone of that requirement.

On Jan 26th he made the following post in the Announcements Channel, making it very clear that on Feb 1st he will remove any member of the server who is not compliant:

In the Jan 28th posting he stated that there were roughly 250 users who would be affected by the purge. He certainly wasn't capable of (or required to) individually contacting each of those users, none of whom ever followed his requests for months to change their username to include their callsign.

If the rules that Richie made for his Discord channel aren't working properly, I'm afraid he's the only one that can help.

Remember, the purge was a kick from the Thetis discord server, not a ban, and as such you can rejoin using the invite link in my sig below, which is an invite link that will not time out.

Eventually, if a user keeps rejoining and fails to follow the rules, which incidentally must be read and aggreed to as part of the sign up process, then kicks will happen again. Eventaully it will result in a a perma ban for that discord account.

Ritchie, when using the Server invite link in your signature it comes up and says "unable to accept invite". I did edit my username to include my callsign. But, it still won't let me in. I can get into Discord with my new username. But, if I try to add the link to your Discord Server, it just bounces back.
So, I am at a loss as to what to do from here.

clear cache/cookies fixed it here, but it did work ok without doing that if I already had the Windows Discord app installed prior to clicking the link.

You had been identified by the Discord servers as a suspicious or spam account for some reason. Your account had been perma banned. I have revoked this as of a few mins ago, so give it another try.

I ended up making a new account and was able to get in and see the instructions. From there I was able to change my ID for the Thetis server and things seem to be OK.

The issues for me.

It has been a long time since I have been on and never saw or was not paying attention when Richie put up the notice ( I do tend to just jump straight to where I want to go ).

No number of or different invites was helping me get in with my original account. I just got the can't join server message that someone else showed here. So, there were no instructions to follow.

Changing my main user name was not the answer, changing it on the Thetis server seems to be what needs to be done, there is a short video that shows where to do this.

All of this is only meaningful if you can get on the Thetis server to begin with which I could not.

For me, I think the big gotcha was the first time I tried to go back when the Thetis server was missing from my account, I was able to rejoin and I think I actually did get the popup with instructions, problem was I had to suddenly leave without doing anything. When I got back to it the next day, it would no longer allow me to rejoin. I don't see anything about being banned or otherwise locked out, but I could not get back in. I don't know if this will eventually timeout and let me use my original login again and rejoin.

For me, I am back on with a new discord account, hopefully I can get my original account going again ( now I have to wait 3 days to change my ID back to what it was ), hopefully rejoining the Thetis server will have a similar timeout.
