VFO B to A long delay

Using 3.4.9 on ANAN 100
Clicking VFOB TX all is well, split is turned on, executes immediately.
But then clicking VFOA TX there is a 1.8 second delay while split is turned off, Power cycles, and VFOA is selected before a response is received via CAT control.
Why the long delay? Is there some logical reason for this?
