VAC deactivates when switching LSB/USB to AM

Post by VK3ICM »

Hi - probably a simple one. For a while I've noticed that if i switch from USB/LSB to AM, my active VAC deactivates. Is this a setting I have somewhere? P2, 2.9.0.

VAC state is stored as part of any transmit profile.

The transmit profile is tied to the state of the mode and band selected.

If you have transmit profile "A" selected for SSB, and transmit profile "B" selected for AM, and you neglected to save "B" with VAC enabled then you will get the behavior you are seeing.

Set is all up the way you want, then resave the profile in question.

P.S. it is strongly recommended to disable the profile automatic save options because if you make one change and then forgot you did it the results can drive you crazy.

Hi Chris

As Scott says the profile should do the trick but if it doesn't there are also a couple of possible settings in setup.

The first is under the Audio tab, then VAC1 on the lefthand side there is an option Auto Enable. This disables vac for all other modes so you want it unchecked.

Second possibility is again in setup but on the transmit tab. Towards the bottom left you have the option to restore VAC device details from TX Profile.
