Does Radio or Thetis Report Frequency Data

Postby N7KD » Mon Jul 01, 2024 9:05 pm

Does either the G2 radio itself or through Thetis broadcast frequency and/or other data via UDP or other packet format? I would like to use Node Red to control other devices such as amplifiers, tuners, and antenna switches that need at least frequency data reported from the radio.
Thanks,
Ken

There is full CAT I/O available over both multiple serial and IP connections available simultaneously in Thetis, not sure about piHPSDR.

Connections are made to the client software on whatever machine it resides on. For Thetis-based systems start with this topic: viewtopic.php?f=22&t=4249&p=25803

For more info search this forum for "cat server".

Ken,

Join the nodered-hamradio forum on groups.io

There are a few of us that have Anan rigs and there are examples for a lot of amps / antenna switches / rotor controllers etc.

To answer your question, I do get the rig frequency from Thetis (Ethernet CAT) for my node-red flow. I use node-red to control an Anan G2, FlexRadio 4O3A Power Genius, TS-890, Alpha 9500, M2 2800, Tic-Ring, MOAS II antenna switch, a Tornado Tuner for 80 meter dipole (need to install this next Fall), and the A/C D/C power switching that powers all these devices.

The node-red flows are modular so you build / borrow for one device at a time and integrate them to work together.

Post what you're looking to do over there and I'm sure there will more than one reply.
