Problems when G-2 moved to different PC

Post by Torrey »

I have a year-old G-2 with a plain front. From day one I have used a dedicated Mini GeekOM computer. Over recent weeks, the miniPC has shut down unexpectedly with a black screen. A re-boot has sometimes restored the miniPC and with-it Thetis & the G-2 performed OK. This problem has persisted and is getting worse.

My approach has been to simply move the G-2 over to my high-end tower PC. I installed the same version of Thetis (dev 8b) plus Voicemeeter Banana. I followed Scott’s “restore” procedure duplicating the files on the tower PC. Result: was:
1. Thetis installed without a hitch and setup Voicemeeter as before.
2. Using TUN, 2TON, or speaking into the microphone produces normal power output. The monitor scope shows a normal modulation pattern.
3. However, nothing appears on the panoramascope.
4. My voice cannot be heard with the MON button and cannot be recorded.
5. Meanwhile, the receiver is dead. No sound. Nothing on the scope. Yes, the antenna is attached with good SWR.
I hope these symptoms will sound familiar to one of you. Maybe some change in the choices in set up?
Any thoughts will be much appreciated. I’m sure missing the Anan G-2!

Thank you,

It might be a Windows firewall issue. Use the firewall check feature in Thetis setup and/or disable Windows firewall.
