Windows 11 users

Post by JJ4SDR »

I have not been very keen on migrating from my current Windows 10 O/S to Windows 11. My PC is compatible with the latest Windows O/S. From what I understand doing that is a bit of a "chore."

Could some of you who have been running Thetis for a long time under Windows 11 chime in and tell me exactly WHY I should migrate? Any major points that I should keep in mind if I decide to migrate?

Most have non Thetis related software on machines too (unless your PC is dedicated to running Thetis and/or ham radio related software only).

I realize that official support for Windows 10 by Microsoft ends on Oct 14, 2025 unless I am mistaken.

Awaiting comments/suggestions!

There is no issue running Thetis on Win 11, been doing it for several years with 100% reliability.

Why should I migrate? Are there any real, tangible benefits that are directly attributable to using 11 vs 10? I would be surprised if the answer is in the affirmative and if that is the case, please enumerate the benefits :) .

Just my opinion..

If only because products evolve, it's a safe assumption that Win11 is more highly optimized than Win10, both in terms of speed and utilization of system resources, especially on newer machines (if only because older machines likely don't have all of the latest hardware features that Win11 is written to take advantage of).

Generally speaking, I run the latest OS that each of my computers will support (and they all currently support the latest Win11).

Hi Mark!

How you been doing?

A very pragmatic approach and I think this is what I was looking for :D . For me, I was wondering and concerned over compatibility of some of the audio software that I have and really like (some are "vintage").

Best!

The PC I am running came with Windows 11. No problems with any Thetis version (am on the latest). Have been running it with a G2 since May of 2024.
