ANAN-7000DLE MKII with internal PC - PTT problem

Post by DL8LAQ »

Hi guys,

I need an advise how to fix this problem for a remote OM in Austria. I used Anydesk to update his ANAN. He was still running PowerSDR and protocol 1.

The problem is that the ANAN goes into transmitt even without a microphone. I switched PTT off and enabled spacebar PTT so that the very OM can use the radio.

I don't have the radio on my desk!

Edit: I assume that the ANAN was working with PowerSDR and proctocol 1 without PTT issues. Should ask him ... He owns a 2nd 7000DLE MKII with a defective power switch (the square one). I will take a look on this unit too (remote).

Although you write "even without a microphone", that behavior implies that there is something plugged into the rear PTT IN port.

If there is nothing plugged into any of the ports, front or rear, then one of the chassis connectors is probably damaged.

Given that it is a "very" OM, perhaps you can get him to send you photos of the front and rear of the unit as it sits on the bench/desk/table/shelf, just to be certain what is and is not plugged into it.

Just to be 100% sure, have you reset the database in Thetis to confirm it is not a Thetis problem? Because it is very, very unlikely this is a problem with Thetis.

Hi Jim,

my bad, yes, it's no Thetis problem. Thetis is a frech install with a clean database. Some questions to ask tomorrow. I was a bit tired after a 2 hours remote session with this guy :-)
