G2 and Q5 432MHz Wideband Transverter options

Post by DO7DV »

Transverters are interesting devices.

I am still learning in this field and think I've understood the principles of transverters.
The Anan G2 seems to be a perfect match for transverter usage, because of its XVTR and XVTR In connectors.

I think it is often assumed, that the IF frequency is 28MHz and the transceiver can tune will tune up to 30MHz.
Therefore transverters for e.g. 6m, 4m and 2m ham bands can easily use the full extend of the transverted band.

How does it work with a device like the Q5 Signal 432 MHz transverter in wideband configuration?

Is it possible to use the full 430MHz to 440MHz with the Anan G2?

There are other configuration options I do not understand.
What is the advantage of an "Switch-Selectable LO Freq"?
