Device is an 8000dle with protocol 2 now
Spacebar not functioning (protocol 1 or 2)
Was not functioning at 2.8.11 either
Powersdr mRX spacebar would function (protocol 1) so not a keyboard or HW issue

Hi Richie,
Pleased to report that your fix for CTUN with cw and transverter mode appears to be working fine.
Just finished my usual cw net and no complaints about me being off frequency!!
I have also tested it in the same way I did before into a dummy load with another radio and the rx stays on the correct frequency when CTUN is turned on and off. So thanks for fixing the issue so quickly, much appreciated.

Andrew

Quick recall is a thing ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5HAcy6kqIWk

Edit: there may be some need to have some sort of error delta. Perhaps if a list entry is 'too close' then we ignore adding another one a couple of Hz away for example. Or if something is close it gets 'dragged' to where you are now.

Only with VFOA atm.

Richie,

Your instructions in the first post say, "IMPORTANT: when starting up the new version HOLD CTRL when updating from base 2_8_11."

What do you mean exactly by "when starting up the new version"? Does that mean I should hold CTRL as I'm pressing the Power button on the initial 21b session?

Please clarify, as I'm an idiot and I don't want bad things to happen just because I can't follow instructions.

Kind thanks for all you do, sir!

At the moment you only need to hold CTRL if updating from base TAPR version 2_8_11. If you updated with 21a and did the force DB update on 21a then you dont need to do it for 21b. If you are coming direct to 21b from the base TAPR install then you DO need to hold CTRL.

Just to clarify, when you double click the icon to start Thetis, is when you need to keep CTRL held.

Hi

I apologize, maybe my question is off topic.
But I really want to have a full-fledged RX2. Is it possible to make memory of ranges and settings for RX2.

Hi Richie, and welcome back...

I just loaded 21b and noticed something odd. CPU usage for "Thetis Only" is showing 0% to 1%. Prior usage with 2.8.11 would show 5% to 8% normally.
Great stuff you're doing and thanks very much!

70MHz transverter 'Out of Band' message appears at first set-up of XVTR. It is corrected by re-selecting region in the General settings and re-starting Thetis. Just a small bug to add to the list.

Richie, Many thanks for your great attention to the fine details in Thetis.

Richie...

Disregard my post about CPU usage. I had two instances of Thetis running, not sure how or why, but ended the task for low CPU copy running and now CPU usage is normal.

Thetis x64, i9, RTX2060, Dedicated Ethernet

While RX2 is enabled, Click CTUN enables CTUN on both RX, Fine. Click CTUN to Disable, it only disables CTUN on the selected RX.
Perhaps Clicking CTUN should only Enable CTUN on the desired RX, instead of both RX?

Awesome job Richie!

Happens also here. First start (with Ctrl pressed) asks to convert the database, and then closes Thetis. But thetis.exe was still active. I had to kill thetis.exe manually, then the next start was successful.

Hello all,

installed 21b here, all running smooth (I do not use VAC). With Gradients activatet i have around 6-8 % more CPU-Usage, and the yellow LED
is flickert here. With RX2 activatit it is a bit more (I am running at 144 Hz). Without Gradients the yellow LED is also there, but not so often.

Edit: If Fill Panadapter is not checked, the CPU-Usage is near normal.

2-Tone Delay work great at 1 ms.

Just testet: the Size of the S-Meter is now coming back as expectet, was not so with 2.8.11 :)

Graet work Ritchie, many, many thanks

Hi Ritchie,
Thanks so much for the update, 21b working fine here.

Would like to put in a request to update the path illustrator to work with the Orion MkII boards / 7000dle mkii.

Hi Jeff, there is a ctun for each rx. They are not linked in any way (or at least that is how it works on my install).

Richie,

I seem to have lost the ability to switch back to a previous band and still have those band edges where I had left them when I was last working that band. Now on 21b whenever I go back to a previous band the last-used RX filter frequency is always repositioned to the middle of the panafall regardless of where it was when I was last on that band. So the edges are of course also no longer where I had previously set them either.

The reason this is important to me is because I'm only a general-class license holder, so I preset the band edges such that only the portion of band I have privileges for is visible on the scope. That way any time I go back to that band the visible scope limits are preset for my privileges.

Is there a setting that I can change that will return to the old behavior?

Thanks,
Mark

Path Illustrator looks odd on my PC (W10/21H1/64 bit) with GTX1050Ti.

Hmmm, the bevahiour I observe happens when the "VFO SYNC" is enabled, which is how I operate RX1 and RX2 simultaneously while listening to 2 different antennas in pseudo "stereo". To your point, When "VFO SYNC" is NOT enabled, CTUN behaves as you documented.

That is not true for 21b.
In 21b the panafall is automatically centered at the vfo-freq on band-switching. CTUN on, VFO-Sync off.

In 21a the behavior is "correct". The panafall is positioned as last used.

For those looking for a better path illustrator: path illustrator is a very fine idea, and it certainly helps understand what is going on in the radio, but there's a lot of code that seems to be missing. I'm not sure who the original contributor for this code is, but the capability certainly seems no better than half finished. Unless I'm badly mistaken this is probably not something that would be easy for Richie to engage on, and IMHO his energies are far better spent fixing or adding the scores of other less complex features that need fixing or adding.
