CW TX waveform display

Post by W9IP »

When I transmit CW with my Angelia board, I don't see any CW waveform (or anything else) on the panadapter. During TX, the TX panadapter is blank except for the grid. I do see the waveform nicely for Digital modes. I have searched throughout the Thetis setup screens and I don't find anything specific for the CW display. Setup/Display/TX/TX grid scale is -200 minimum. Any suggestions what I might do?
Thanks,

Is DUP on or off? If DUP is on, then is your Angelia board connected to RF components that provide the necessary full duplex feedback during transmit?

I can turn on DUP and see what the RX is detecting. This is different from the TX waveform that I am asking about. The other modes display TX waveform. For example, during a Digi transmission, you can watch the TX output dance around in frequency while you're transmitting. I just can't get the panadapter to show it for CW.

With DUP on you are seeing what is really coming out of the radio. With DUP off you are seeing an FFT of the data going to the DAC, which is picked off at the output of Thetis before it is sent over Ethernet to the hardware.

Since the CW waveform is generated in the FPGA, it is not visible in the spectral display with DUP turned off.
